چکیده

The study was aimed to evaluate the diffuse liver diseases by using 2D-conventional ultrasound. A prospective, analytic, and descriptive study of abdominal ultrasound images of 100 subjects with diffuse liver diseases; fatty infiltration, acute hepatitis, chronic hepatitis and cirrhosis. An ultrasound assesses characteristics of the liver including (size, echogenicty, outline and intra hepatic duct), was collected and analyzed. Also cross tabulation was done to assess the relationship between all these variables and diffuse liver diseases. The study found that the liver cirrhosis is higher incidence in diffuse liver diseases representing 40% and more in age group between 31 and 45 years by percentage of 41% of diffuse liver disease, acute viral hepatitis were 31%, chronic hepatitis were 13% and fatty liver 16%.

Evaluation of ASGE Criteria for Prediction of Choledocholithiasis: Can Early Endoscopic Ultrasound Utilization Make the Prediction More Accurate?

Background: ASGE predictive model for the detection of choledocholithiasis is a reasonable approach for the management of patients with cholelithiasis. Surgeons do not pursue cholecystectomy without evaluation of the biliary system when laboratory tests and diagnostic imaging evidence show biliary duct involvement. Literature revisions reveal that the prediction of choledocholithiasis based on ...

Diagnosis of liver cirrhosis with contrast-enhanced ultrasound.

The assessment of the extent of liver fibrosis is very important for the prognosis and clinical management of chronic liver diseases. Although liver biopsy is the gold standard for the assessment of liver fibrosis, new non-invasive diagnostic methods are urgently needed in clinical work due to certain limitations and complications of biopsy. Noninvasive imaging studies play an important role in...

Increased liver stiffness in idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis: a pilot study.

PURPOSE There is evidence that pulmonary, hepatic and renal fibrosis may share common pathogenetic pathways. Aim of our study was to measure liver stiffness in patients affected by clinically stable idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF). METHODS Twenty-nine cases (24 M; mean age±SD: 67±8.3 yrs; 19 ex-smokers) along with fifteen age- and sex-matched healthy volunteers were enrolled. Liver conven...
